Back in August, during the Paris Olympics, Omega’s eminent ambassador, Daniel Craig, was spotted sporting a yet-unreleased reference of the much-loved Omega Seamaster Diver 300M. This mysterious new Seamaster, sporting a simple black bezel and dial, mesh bracelet, and no date, sent shockwaves through the watch community.
Yesterday, however, the question of Daniel Craig’s mystery Omega was solved when Omega introduced the hotly anticipated new versions of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M.
There are two new dial/bezel variations and four new references in this new release. The first, seemingly the exact watch seen on Daniel Craig, features a black aluminum wave dial and a black aluminum bezel. The second features a new, striking, brushed PVD-treated stainless steel dial paired with a textured titanium bezel, similar to the recently-released Semaster Nekton references 210.30.42.20.01.002 and 210.32.42.20.01.002. The black dial version evokes a classic, yet refreshed Seamaster feel while the silver dial version offers a more niche, bold look new to the collection.
Everything else about these new releases are Seamaster staples that we know and love. Both variations are available on either Omega’s lauded mesh bracelet or rubber strap. The 42mm case diameter, 49.7mm lug-to-lug distance, and 13.8mm case thickness have been seen on other Seamaster models. The same can be said of the applied indices, skeleton hands, helium escape valve, and the Omega caliber 8806, the no-date variation of their METAS-certified movement line.
Though reminiscent of the very popular “No Time to Die” and “James Bond 60th Anniversary” Seamasters with MSRPs of $10,000 and $8,300, these models come at a more accessible retail price point of $6,500 on mesh bracelet or $5,900 on rubber strap.
